Charlton Athletic are set to make a move for Toulouse midfielder John Bostock, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, as reported by Football Insider.
What’s the story?
The Addicks will likely be looking to make signings, either temporary or permanent, during the winter to help ease the impact of their current injury crisis.
This comes with key members of the team, such as Lyle Taylor, Macauley Bonne and Josh Cullen all currently unavailable.
One target is said to be Bostock, who is currently with Forest on loan from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse.
Their hope is that this arrangement will be cut short, allowing the 27-year-old to play at the Valley for the season’s second half.

Reigniting his season
Bostock was wanted by Barcelona as a youngster, before moving from Crystal Palace to Tottenham Hotspur, as mentioned by The Telegraph.

However, his career has not gone on to reach anywhere near those heights, with his permanent clubs since leaving Spurs including Royal Antwerp and Bursaspor.
Having moved to Forest on loan for this season, he has managed just three starts and two substitute appearances across all competitions so far.
It is a revealing sign of his status at the City Ground that he has not even made the bench in any of their last six league games.
However, as mentioned previously, Charlton’s squad is looking very thin as they fight to maintain their Championship status, so they could offer him a route back into first-team football.
Bostock has shown that he can produce results if given the chance in the past, with his best spell coming at OH Leuven in Belgium, when he got 20 goals and seven assists from 58 appearances in all competitions.
This could be the move that allows Bostock to reignite his season, while also giving Lee Bowyer another option to choose from.
In other news, Bowyer is hoping for a signing that can take the pressure off one of his youngsters.
