da pixbet: As reported by The Daily Mail, David Moyes is planning a raid on former club Everton to bring Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson to the Stadium of Light.
What’s the story?
da realbet: The Mail say both players, currently on the fringes of the Everton first team, could be available this January although Koeman is said to be more reluctant about losing Oviedo.
The interest is reported to be far enough along that the Black Cats have made initial enquiries about what it would take to bring both to the North East.
That follows hot on the heels of signing Joleon Lescott, who Moyes is hoping can bring some much needed defensive improvement to his struggling side.
Trusted figures
In Lescott, Oviedo and Gibson, Moyes is turning to players he knows and trusts in order to do a job for him in the second half of the season.
The Sunderland manager signed all three for Everton and must fancy that a reunion will be enough to save the Black Cats from the drop.
It could be a struggle for them to immediately make an impact for Sunderland. Darron Gibson hasn’t made a single first team start for the Toffees this season while Oviedo has only made six.
Moyes doesn’t have time for signings to get up to match fitness and is playing a risky game bringing out of form and out of practice stars to the club.
Is his relationship with the players enough to motivate them to a standard that can keep them up?
