da heads bet:
da luck: Joey Barton has been bailed by police after being arrested for affray on Monday night.
The controversial QPR midfielder was involved in an incident outside a nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning whilst on a night out with his girlfriend in Liverpool.
Barton and three other men were brought into police custody, but the Merseyside law enforcers have confirmed that the Loftus Road man has been released.
“Merseyside Police can confirm that the 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of affray has been released on bail pending further inquiries,” an official statement published by Sky Sports reads.
Barton later explained the incident to his Twitter followers, claiming that he had been the subject of an attack.
“I got sucker punched in the back of the head. Not injured as reported just a small bruise on rear of head/ear,” he commented on the social networking site.
“I’ve had worse. Life goes on! Thanks for the concern. Have a good day people.
“Not planning on pressing charges as it’s not that serious. The police have also got better things to do with their time.
“Can I just say a public thanks to the police last night as they were and have been today brilliant,” he concluded.
