da roleta: Leeds United fans of a certain age have known pretty much nothing but disappointment.
da esport bet: Indeed, the Whites haven’t played top-flight football since 2004, meaning that there’s a whole generation of Leeds supporters that don’t know what it’s like to watch their team in the Premier League.
However, that wait may be over sooner rather than later as Marcelo Bielsa’s men sit eight points clear of third place in the Championship and promotion looks like a real possibility this term.
While the prospect of promotion probably sounds like heaven for every Leeds fan, there is one trend that many supporters are bound to get annoyed with that is already rearing its head.
Of course, we’re talking about the trend of far-fetched transfer rumours.
Leeds are already one of the best-supported clubs in England, and the size of their fanbase make them a lucrative club for any journalist to write about. However, a return to the Premier League would immediately attract clickbait hungry sites from all over Europe.
We’ve already seen it this week as Gianluca Di Marzio namedropped Leeds in a report about Edinson Cavani moving to Atletico Madrid – with numerous other sites going on to regurgitate that story.
Anyone who knows anything about Leeds’ current FFP situation would tell you that a move for Cavani is simply impossible, yet these stories still pick up traction.
Luckily, the Elland Road faithful often aren’t interested in these rumours as they’ve previously shown their annoyance at tales linking them to the likes of Francesco Totti, Ben Gibson, Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent.
The first name was just as outrageous as Cavani and emerged with the club still in the Championship. Imagine what it would be like upon a return to the top-flight. Not only that, but we also saw the great Gianluigi Buffon linked last summer.
The Whites’ return to the Premier League would be euphoric for the fanbase, but the mass numbers of ridiculous transfer stories that will likely emerge upon their promotion will be bordering on unbearable.
In other news, Leeds fans have been up in arms about one club tweet.
