Liverpool fans have been attempting to justify on social media why their side should have been awarded a penalty during their 4-1 win against Genk on Wednesday.
A brace from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah rounded off the scoring tally at the Luminus Arena, which saw them remain second in Group E behind leaders Napoli.
There was one moment during the match that has inherited the spot as the game’s main focus.

Roberto Firmino’s delightful rabona through ball sent Sadio Mane clear on goal but his weak shot was saved well by goalkeeper Gaeren Coucke.
However, there were calls for a penalty to be awarded to the visitors after what looked like a handball by Genk’s Carlos Cuesta and then Joakim Maehle appeared to push Mane in the back as he was about to pull the trigger.
