da dobrowin: Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has pleaded with the club to stick with under fire boss Brendan Rodgers, according to reports in the Daily Express.
da dobrowin: The German midfielder believes Rodgers is the right man to lead the club towards their Champions League objectives, despite consecutive Premier League losses to West Ham and Manchester United.
‘There’s no two ways about it, Liverpool must stick with Brendan Rodgers’, said the former German international maestro, who lifted the 2005 Champions League with the Anfield outfit.
‘They made a change to the backroom staff over the summer and more change now would be a mistake’, stated the 42-year old – who resided on Merseyside for seven years.
Two consecutive defeats have seen ex-Borussia Dortmund supremo Jurgen Klopp linked with taking over the reins at Liverpool, as a fan infamously started a fundraising campaign in order to raise the relevant compensation to relieve Rodgers of his duties.
Despite this, Hammam is confident ahead of the next two Premier League fixtures against Aston Villa and Norwich.
‘They now have two reasonable home games vs Norwich & Villa and if they win them, they can look back on a reasonable start to the season.’
The former Swansea boss has been in charge since 2012, and is yet to win a trophy with the club, despite almost leading them to a first Premier League title during the 2013-14 season, when they finished as runners up to Manchester City.
England striker Daniel Sturridge has resumed full training after a long spell on the side lines, and will boost Liverpool’s attacking options.
