da pinnacle: Newcastle are expected to make a tidy profit on Aleksandar Mitrovic, and they should immediately turn their attentions to Wolves target Andre Silva.
What’s the story?
da fazobetai: According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have agreed to sell Mitrovic to Premier League newcomers Fulham for a fee of £22m, potentially rising to £27m.
The young Serbian international is not the man Rafael Benitez wants to lead his front line, presumably seeking someone with similar power but more technical ability and a better work ethic.
This is why he should look at Silva, who is likely to leave AC Milan after a difficult first season at the San Siro and with the club facing financial sanctions.
Wolves have been strongly linked with a move for the striker, as the Premier League newcomers view the youngster as the final piece of their impressive puzzle.
The new boys on the block have been making waves in the transfer market thanks partly to the influence of super agent Jorge Mendes, but the windfall from the Mitrovic sale will give Newcastle enough cash to compete for Silva.

What’s all the fuss about?
Silva’s goal drought last season has left many football fans doubting his potential, but this is a young player that just 12 months ago was seen as the eventual successor to Cristiano Ronaldo as Portugal’s primary goalscorer.
The 22 year-old scored 17 goals as a teenager in Portugal in his breakout season, before bettering it in the 2016-17 season with 21 goals. He has wonderfully intelligent movement for such a young player, and is a great finisher either with his head or his feet. Even in his difficult first season in Milan, he still managed to bag ten times in all competitions.
The youngster already has 12 goals in 26 Portugal caps, and his ability to stick the ball in the net isn’t the only thing that should appeal to Rafa. He has impressive link-up play for a classic number nine, and he loves taking on defenders one on one.
Valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt, Mitrovic’s sale should put Newcastle right in range to smash their long-standing transfer record on this rising star. He desperately needs to revive his career in a faster league with a great manager and a passionate fan base, and Tyneside would be the perfect place for him to do it.
