da wazamba: West Ham United captain Kevin Nolan sees no reason why strikers Andy Carroll and Carlton Cole cannot form a formidable partnership when the former returns to action into two weeks, according to The Daily Mail.
da prosport bet: It took a dramatic last-gasp equaliser from Nolan to earn a point for the Hammers in a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland on Saturday.
The 30-year-old believes that despite the fact that Cole is going through a poor run of goal-scoring form, he and Carroll have the potential to cause problems for any Premier League defence, “It’s going to be interesting to see when they’re both fit if they play together, because they’ll scare the life out of defenders – as long as I’m playing with them, not against them. I’m sure at some point we’ll see that.”
Nolan says that Cole has performed admirably in the absence of Carroll and believes that both players are an asset to the club, “Andy’s settled in well to what we’re about. He seems at ease. You always miss quality but we have others like Cole, who have come in and done a good job. He’s going to be vital for us. Just knowing you’ve got those two in your ranks is brilliant.”
